The guidlines that I was given were quite vague; this gave me a lot of flexability. I began the process by thinking of the overall image that I thought would suit the couple, from this I could consider colours, paper, size, printing techniques etc.
I knew the couple who asked me to create the invitation very well so I was able to chose something that they might like. I showed them several ideas to begin with and then worked on the one that they chose. It was fun creating the invitation, using a repetative pattern to create an overal interesting design.
For this design I wanted it to have a hand drawn look, I only used Faber-Castell's Pitt artist pens. Although the effect for this particular piece was greater being hand drawn but it was less forgiving.
